Best of the West Winners – “TACT”

Congratulations to our air rifle team “TACT”, George Redhead, Kyle Lissner, Sofie Tafolla, and Austin Rose, on their 1st place team award at the Best of the West air rifle competition in Lincoln, CA, November 5, 2011:

George aka Timber took 2nd place individual
Kyle aka Army took 4th place individual
Sofie aka Crack took 5th place individual
Austin aka Tiny scored close behind.

shooting team fundraiser October 2011

Thank you to everyone who came to the fundraiser at 10th St on October 9th. Everyone went away happy after shooting for the first time in some cases! There were about 22 participants and lots of helpers, who also got a chance to shoot:

thanks to Mitch, Austin, Ed, Lisa, Major, Master Gunny and Gunny for “manning” the firing points and teaching the new shooters

thanks to Patty for all your donations and for greeting and signing up all the visitors

Scores now posted on CMP website: 954 competitors over the whole country!

Our top shooter, River Garza, finished 25th out of 954!

Postal match scores from 10/15/10 at 10th St range

Another great turnout for the second postal match at 10th St. Congratulations to the 9 shooters who came to take part.
Here are the scores, give or take a few points. The targets will be sent off to Smiths Station High School JROTC in Alabama or Daniel Boone High School JROTC in Tennessee for entry into their national postal competitions. When the final results are posted on the CMP (Civilian Marksmanship Program) website I will let you know. This won’t be for months!
Please note for all the postals we will be under “Del Mar High School JROTC”.

Purple means you scored better than last week.

For next week’s matches:

Palm Bay postal: George, Jeff, Frank, Robert, River (team Double Tap) This is a special match run three times through the school year with the same 5 shooters. I chose these 5 because I was sure they would all shoot again this year.

MCJROTC postal: everyone else who comes along Friday may shoot this postal match on Friday. I have your target with your names on already. Again it is a 3 position match with the same rules.

Daniel Boone postal: if you choose to wait a few weeks to shoot your MCJROTC postal targets, you can shoot for the Daniel Boone match instead and see if you improve on your previous scores (if any).
